Bethel Church of Tallmadge A/G

It is our heart to invest in the Kingdom with our time, talent & treasure through the ministry of missions. Our definition of missions stems from the Great Commission given to Jesus' disciples by our Lord:

{MT 28:16-20} Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

We seek to accomplish this purpose through giving, sending & going:

Giving Through the various mission's arms of the A/G, (Speed the Light, BGMC, Light for the Lost, Miss Equip, LIFE offerings, faith promises, etc) we seek to invest monetarily in the Kingdom & follow the Lord's expectation of us to give.

{MT 6:2-4} "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

Sending
We believe it is a Biblical pattern to send people from our congregation to pursue the full-time call into the mission field. We believe God's call extends to people of all ages, backgrounds and circumstances.

{AC 13:1-3} In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers...While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.

Going We believe it is a Scriptural pattern for us to go and be witnesses locally and abroad. We hope to accomplish this through missions trips, local outreaches and other missions endeavors.

{AC 1:8} But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
